Healthy Summer Snack Ideas for Kids

I’ve teamed up with Produce for Kids to bring you five simple healthy summer snack ideas for kids. I know you’re going to love these all summer long!
Healthy Summer Snack Ideas for Kids

In the summer months I think more carefully about the snacks I give my kids. They’re spending so much time running around in the heat that I know they need good calories, good protein, and lots of hydration.

These are some of the factors that Produce for Kids and I kept in mind when coming up with our summer snack ideas for this year.

The result: Five simple summer snacks bursting with fresh produce for health and hydration. Some have a punch of protein as well. And all of them have that special something-something that makes them real treats. These are snacks that your kids will love and that you’ll love giving to them.

These Simple Summer Snack Recipes for Kids are found on the Produce for Kids site:

Fireworks Parfait
Green Smoothie Pops
PB&J Pops
Peach Pie Smoothie
Banana Boats

I’ve read a few posts here and I can actually relate. I live not too far from Walmart in San Jose, CA. A few years ago, a friend of mine introduced me to Marie Callender’s’ cornbread. Today, its one of the most requested items for family dinners. You just can’t resist the great taste…Its’-a-maize-ing. Check out their website http://www.mccornbread.com to order your cornbread mix and start enjoying the MC experience.

I find it really hard to keep them eating healthy snacks when they are home and bored all day. I just make sure the pantry and fridge are stocked with lots of healthy options and skip the not so healthy choices.
