Great Gift Ideas Like The Mini Donut Cookbook
I’m an easy person to buy gifts for (everyone in my family disagrees but they’re wrong. I’m right). You see, since I love food and love cooking, I also love cookbooks. I think cookbooks are great gift ideas for foodies. They’re relatively inexpensive, they are often beautiful, they’re inspiring and they’re useful. Most importantly, I always remember who gave me a particular cookbook. That means that every time I go flipping through those pages in search of a recipe or just some inspiration, I think of the person who gave it to me. In this way, the cookbook-giver becomes a part of the food that I make, the food that my family eats and the food that we love. Having loved ones be a regular part of our meals, even when they’re not with us: There’s no better gift than that.
This week, from a vacation rental apartment in Philadelphia (thus the unusual green and white kitchen as background) I met up virtually with Katie to chat with Jessica Segarra of the Novice Chef Blog about her new cookbook, Mini Donuts: 100 Bite-Sized Donut Recipes To Sweeten Your “Hole” Day. We talked about the different ways to make mini donuts, about all the amazing flavors Jessica came up with and a bit about the cookbook-writing and cookbook-photography process. It was a fun chat (strange technical glitches aside!) during which Jessica was as sweetly charming and funny as ever and I became more convinced that cookbooks make great gift ideas for food-lovers.
The Mini Donut Cookbook makes an especially great gift idea. It’s beautiful and there are so many wonderful flavor combinations included. Anyone who likes to make sweets would love this book since it’s a tempting source of flavor combinations for all kinds of baking. Find out all about this wonderful cookbook in our video here:
I hope you enjoyed our chat. If it’s made you think about gifts for the food-lovers on your list!
