Halloween Treats: Chat w/ Katie & Angie

Halloween Treats: Chat w/ Katie & Angie

Every year when Halloween rolls around I’m forced to admit that I am not a baker. Well, I bake bread. But I don’t do any of the cutesy Halloween treats and cupcakes that are splashed all over the internet towards the end of October.

It’s not that I don’t like eating Halloween treats. I DO! It’s just that I’m not whimsical enough to come up with the ideas, patient enough to spend time doing all that tedious decorating, nor controlled enough to not eat up the fruits of my labor before anyone gets to see them.

And so, for Halloween I tend to stick to the bought mini chocolate bars and packets of skittles. There’s a time for everything, right?

But this year I might just do something a bit different. You see, the other night I had the chance to talk with two whimsical, patient and controlled women who do make creatively adorable Halloween treats (Katie from Katie’s Cucina and Angie from Eclectic Recipes).

Aren’t their ideas exciting. Exciting enough that I’m considering making one of them. Maybe Angie’s Owl Moon Pie Pops. Aren’t they cute? Or Katie’s String Monster Cupcakes. They are almost probably on my to-do list.

Do you know what is *definitely* on my to-do list? Angie’s Bloody Martini. That is *exactly* what I want to be sipping on come October 31st.

Love Angie’s idea of making *bones* cornbread to go with the family’s Halloween night Chili dinner and her whoopie pie owls are adorable.

Aren’t her ideas wonderful? I think she’s such a talented recipe developer. It was an honor to have her on our show.

  2. Way to branch out! I’m definitely in that, “not creative-patient” enough category. So, this is even more impressive.

Oh, I haven’t actually MADE anything yet. But I’m thinking about it! Those owls are Angie’s all the way.
