CFL BlogCon Recap
When we arrived at the Central Florida Bloggers Conference, Jackie of momjovi.com, Michelle of crazyrunninglegs.com and I were chattering with nerves. We had planned and practiced and knew the ins and outs of our presentation on Fitting Blogging Into Your Life. But still, the thought of standing up in that crowded room and actually *doing* the presentation was making our teeth clench and our knees wobble.
We managed to do the presentation though. I saw nodding heads and thoughtful expressions throughout. I think people even laughed when we hoped they would. All in all, it was well-received. Yay us! All our crazy hard work payed off.
We of course were not the only speakers at the Central Florida Bloggers Conference. There were many. It was a crazily full day of interesting, informative and engaging sessions.

Not only did I learn and get inspiration from the speakers, I also learned and was inspired by the other bloggers. There were many in attendance and I can’t list them all. But those that are currently popping into my mind as engaging, inspiring, interesting and/or kind are:
I also absolutely need to thank the organizers and volunteers. Thank you to all who made this conference such a smoothly smashing success.
And finally, the sponsors! There was a fantastic swag bag full of goodies, there were cookies, massages, beverages, lunch, an after-party, a photographer. So many of the details that were taken care of by sponsors made it a special day. I even won a basket from the American Heart Association in the raffle!

Florida Institute of Technology
Rollins Philanthropy and Non-Profit Research Center
Hard to believe it’s over. I feel like there’s a tiny hole where the presentation-worry used to be. Also a tiny hole because I already miss the meeting and emailing with Jackie and Michelle. On the bright side, if we get together now we’ll be able to focus on our important discussions of movies, celebrities, books and gossip without the constant reminder of, “Oh yeah. We’re supposed to be working!”
Thanks to everyone who had a hand in making CFLBlogCon so awesome. Can’t wait to see you all next year!

Glad you made it through unscathed! I would have loved to have gone, but I had to work all weekend…

Mikki,
The Central Florida Food Bloggers have started a regular monthly meet up. If you want details, email me and I’ll fill you in.
Thank you so much for the shout out :-). Loved listening to your presentation — it was such a great reminder that all moms go through the same balance and loved the tips!
Julia,
It was so nice seeing you and meeting Rod too! Loved getting to see you glowing! Thanks for coming to our talk. So happy you found it helpful.

Christine, as I told Jackie and Michelle before you… I really enjoyed your session and was very happy to get a up close glimpse when I introduced myself to Jackie. One of the things that stuck in my mind from your session was something you said… “work in batches”!!! I host a recipe link up every other Thursday but ran out of recipes to share… So now I will get a bunch of stuff done and have it ready to go!!! Thanks!!! Can’t wait til next year. :)

Susi,
So happy you liked our presentation. Yes, working in batches, especially where cooking and photography is concerned, makes it so much easier. The other way it’s helpful is that you can buy a bunch of fresh garnishing foods (parsley, thyme, limes, etc.) just once a month when you’re doing the photo shoot day. I of course do buy these things at other times but it’s rare that I have a huge selection on hand. Thank you for coming to our presentation and for the comment!

I’ve decided that this whole process is a bit like childbirth. In the beginning, you’re super excited. Towards the end, you’re just ready to be done with it. During the actual event, you’re scared to death and praying you just make it through it alive. As soon as it’s over, despite your vows that you’ll never do it again, you’re ready to start all over from the beginning again.
Glad I was on this journey with you and Michelle!

You’ve got it exactly right! Although, I’m not sure I could do it again for a long long time. Hmmm…that sounds a bit like childbirth to me as well!
